Eligibility Criteria for OINP In-Demand Skills Stream Applicants
To qualify for the OINP In-Demand Skills Stream, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- Expression of Interest (EOI): You must have registered an EOI with the OINP and received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in one of the program draws.
- Valid Job Offer: You must possess a valid job offer from an eligible employer in Ontario.
- Work Experience: Applicants must have at least 9 months of paid, full-time work experience within the same National Occupational Classification (NOC) code as the job offer. This experience must have been acquired within three years before applying to the OINP In-Demand Skills Stream.
- Part-Time Work: Alternatively, if working part-time, you must have accumulated at least 15 hours of paid work per week, amounting to 1200 hours over 18 months.
- License or Certification: If required for the job, you must hold a valid license or authorization certification at the time of applying to the OINP In-Demand Skills Stream.

Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 4 in speaking, listening, writing, and reading.

- 1.Permanent Employment: Your job offer must be for a permanent position, meaning there is no specified end date for the employment contract. Contractual or temporary positions are not eligible for the OINP.
- 2.Full-Time Employment: The job must entail full-time work, equivalent to at least 30 hours of paid work per week. This equates to a minimum of 1560 hours of paid work within a year.
- 3.Labor Dispute Impact: Employment must not adversely affect the job of any individual involved in a labor dispute.
- 4.Wage Requirement: Your job offer must provide compensation equal to or higher than the median salary for your occupation in the respective region of Ontario. For example, if your occupation falls under NOC code 75110 - Contruction Labour and Helper your job offer must pay you at least $25 per hour or higher in Toronto region NOC code 44101 - Home support workers, caregivers and related occupations, your job offer must pay you at least $19.00 per hour or higher Toronto region. - 5.Location: The job must be located within the province of Ontario.
- 6.Urgent Need: The position offered must be essential to the employer's operations and deemed urgently required to ensure the smooth functioning of the business.

To qualify for the OINP In-Demand Skills Stream, your employer must meet the following criteria:

The employer has a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for the position Sufficient efforts proof must be shown by the Employer to Hire Canadian Citizens or PRs Unsuccessfully, which is why the Job Offer was being extended to the applicant. This requirement applies only If the candidate resides outside of Canada or works outside of Ontario. - Active Business: The employer's business must be operational for a minimum of three years.
- Compliance with Regulations: There should be no outstanding issues under the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000, or the Occupational Health and Safety Act related to the employer's business.
- Gross Revenue: If the job offer is within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the employer's annual gross revenue must be at least $1,000,000. For job offers outside the GTA, the minimum annual gross revenue requirement is $500,000.
- Hiring Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents: If the job location is outside the GTA, the employer must have hired at least three Canadian citizens. However, if the job location is within the GTA, the employer must have hired at least five Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Submission of Employer Form: The employer must provide an Employer Form to the applicant, which must be submitted along with the required documents for the OINP In-Demand Skills Stream application.
