Ontario PNP offers various streams through which individuals can apply for nomination, each targeting different categories of applicants based on their skills, work experience, education, and language proficiency. These streams include:
1. Ontario's Express Entry Streams:
- Skilled Trades Stream: Targets individuals with experience in an eligible skilled trade and who have profiles in the federal Express Entry system.

- Foreign Worker Stream: Targets individuals with a job offer from an Ontario employer for a skilled occupation.
- International Student Stream: Targets international students with a job offer from an Ontario employer.
- In-Demand Skills Stream: Targets individuals with a job offer from an Ontario employer for a in-demand occupation.
3. Graduate Streams:
- Master's Graduate Stream: Targets graduates with a master's degree from an Ontario institution in transitioning to permanent residency in the province.
- PHD Graduate Stream: Targets international graduates with a doctoral degree from an Ontario institution in transitioning to permanent residency in the province.

Application Process for Ontario PNP

Receive Notification
If selected, receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario inviting you to apply for nomination.

Submit Application

Wait for Nomination
Wait for a decision on the nomination application from Ontario. If nominated, receive a nomination certificate.

Apply for Permanent Residence
Use the nomination certificate to apply for permanent residence to the federal government of Canada.

Settle in Ontario
Upon receiving permanent residence, settle in Ontario and fulfill any post-landing requirements.

Ontario Provincial Nominee Program Questions
Ontario Express Entry Stream is a province driven program, which invites the applicants from the Express Entry pool, even if they haven’t submitted an Expression of Interest to the province of Ontario.
Ontario Non-Express Entry Stream the applicant must submit their Expression of Interest to the province of Ontario and wait for the invitation based on their score and NOC TEER code.

The OINP Non-Express Entry stream gives 14 days to submit the complete application. On the other hand, Ontario Express Entry Streams give 45 days to submit the complete application after the notification of interest is issued.
Yes, you can apply for the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) even if you reside outside of Canada. Your location will not negatively impact your chances of approval. However, it’s crucial to have a valid job offer from an employer in Ontario to be eligible.
If you are currently living in Ontario and wish to apply for the Ontario PNP, you need to have authorized status in Canada to be eligible. This means you must possess one of the following:
- A valid work permit
- A valid temporary resident visa
- A valid study permit
- A valid passport from a visa-exempt country with an entry date to Canada
- A valid job offer for the Ontario PNP must be from an Ontario employer and include the following details:
- Company letterhead with contact information (address, telephone, email etc.)
- Identification of the responsible manager along with their signature and applicants
- Company’s corporate stamp (if applicable)
- Specific details such as: occupation title, wage for the full-time, permanent position, duties and responsibilities; number of hours worked per week and weeks worked per year, number of vacation days; workplace location, employment start date.
