GROUP 72, 73, 82, 83, 93 OR MINOR GROUP 6320 (EXCLUDING COOKS))
- In Ontario within the last two years.
- Your work experience must match the occupations you identified in your Express Entry profile and be acquired
while maintaining legal status in Canada. - “Cumulative” means the total work adds up to one year, but it doesn’t have to be continuous.
- Full-time work entails at least 30 hours of work per week, amounting to 1,560 hours in a year.
- Part-time work can also count if you’ve worked at least 15 hours per week for two years, or in more than one job
for at least 30 hours per week for one year.
- Your work experience must be gained over at least one year.
- Work experience totaling 1,560 hours in less than a year doesn’t count.
- If you worked in a compulsory trade, only experience gained after getting licensed in Ontario counts.
- Work experience gained while studying full-time or through self-employment doesn’t qualify.
- Volunteer work and unpaid internships are also not considered.
- Vacation and sick leave don’t disrupt full-time employment, but extended leaves do.
If you’re claiming experience in a compulsory trade, you must have a valid certificate or license in Ontario when applying. This applies even if you’re no longer working in the trade. We also provide services to obtain apprenticeships from the province of Ontario if you are working under a licensed skilled tradesman in a compulsory trade.
You must be living in Ontario and hold a valid work permit when you apply. If your permit expires, you can still apply if you’ve submitted a renewal application before it expired.
You need to understand, read, write, and speak English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 or higher. Take an approved language test and submit the results with your application.

You must have enough money to support yourself and your family when you settle in Canada. This can be shown through bank statements, job offers, or annual earnings in Ontario.
You must plan to live in Ontario after getting permanent residence. Your ties to Ontario, like work history, job offers, studying, or family ties, will be considered to prove your intention.

What Are Documents Required For OINP Skilled Trades Stream?
- 1.Scanned copy of the Notification of Interest (NOI) letter received in your IRCC account. It must display the date of issue.
- 2.Scanned copy of your photograph.
- 3.Copy of the personal details page of your passport.
- 4.Copy of work permit, study permit, or any other immigration document.
- 5. Copy of language test result. The test result should not be older than 2 years.
- 6.Documents demonstrating your work experience. These must be on official letterhead and contain your employer's name, business address, email, and contact number. They should also outline the employment period, responsibilities, and salary.
- 7.Copies of payslips, cheques, bank statements, etc.
- 8. Copy of Canada Revenue Agency T4 Statements of Remuneration Paid for work experience in Ontario.
- 9.If your work experience was in a regulated occupation in Ontario requiring a mandatory license, you must submit a copy of your certification from the Ontario College of Trades.
- 10. Scanned documents demonstrating you have sufficient settlement funds. This may include recent bank statements showing the last three months' activities.
- 11.If you have a job offer in Ontario, provide a copy of your job offer letter detailing your job title, responsibilities, wage, and starting date of employment.
- 12.Copy of your latest resume, encompassing your work experience, education, and personal details.
